It’s no secret that the World Basketball Festival is coming to New York, and that Nike has been taken the honors of primary sponsor. For those that don’t know, NYC will host some of the world’s best talent in preparation for the FIBA World Basketball Championships in Turkey that everyone is clamoring about. There’ll be exhibitions in Times Square and Rucker Park with U.S. National team talent, as well as a pair of exhibition games at the Garden between the U.S. and France and China v. Puerto Rico.

In the run up to the World Basketball Festival (WBF) in New York, Nike is releasing a new collection of Air Force 1′s featuring colors, materials and inspiration drawn from the identity of each of the city’s boroughs. These five supreme-level shoes will debut in limited quantities, across the city as summer hoops season heats up. Each of the five shoes within the collection are varsity-inspired, with graphics on the exterior heel and sock liner, special borough exclusive ‘BE’ nod on the tongue, limited edition ‘1898’ labret honoring the year the boroughs were consolidated and printed laces.

The new Air Jordan Retro 6 colourways have been release for 2010. As usual the Jordan Brand have released some unique colours in their classic retro style sneakers. Arguably one of the better Air Jordan releases in sometime, the VI sees a new colorway, appropriately dubbed the “Oreo.” The kicks take on a mostly white base with clear outsole detailing, black nubuck paneling, and splatter accents. You can grab a pair on our online store Click Here.

Following the “Oreo” release, Jordan Brand continues the VI drops with this new colorway of the sixth signature model in the brand’s iconic Air Jordan line. The kicks pay tribute to the Detroit Pistons as MJ overcome them in 1991 to lift his first title in the epic season where MJ averaged 28.2 points per game, with a colorway featuring a mostly black base with red, white, blue and silver accents amongst suede and patent leather panels. The season after Kobe Bryant was done with adidas, and before he signed with Nike, Jordan Brand outfitted the superstar with retro kicks and PEs. It’s a shame this Air Jordan 6 hadn’t been created at the time, as its “Lakers” colorway would have looked great with Los Angeles’ purple and gold uniforms. Black suede is used as the base on the toe box, forefoot and mid-panel. The remainder of the upper is done with black 3M reflective material. A white and black midsole is complimented with the standard icy clear outsole bits. The Lakers-tribute comes in with the contrast stitching that appears throughout the upper, which has been done with purple, yellow and white thread. Michael Jordan grabbed his first of six NBA Championships in VIs over the Lakers, after finally getting past the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Championships, which explains both color-ups of the Retro 6 we’ve seen. This is a re-release of the original but with a few slight changes from the 1991 release. As all you sneaker heads would know the original had a infra-red midsole and more of a gum sole, whereas the new release has a much darker red which compliments the shoe as it has being tagged the “Bulls” Edition so in contrast has being recreated with the theme of Michael Jordan’s most successful team The Chicago Bulls. Jordan Brand winterized the Spizike for their Holiday Collection to create the Spizike Boot. The Boot features a layered upper of leathers, suedes, and ballistic mesh. The plastic “Wings” from the Air Jordan IV (4) have stuck around from the casual version. Cushioning is provided via an Air Sole unit in the heel and a rubberized outsole offers long-lasting durability. Three unique styles will be introduced from this Winter: grey/cherrywood-red-even, black/anthracite-flint, and dark cinder/black. True Religion has had quite a busy year. The company has expanded and opened more freestanding stores. This spring will also launch a new style campaign for the brand.

They have enlisted Sports Illustrated Model, Tori Praver and men’s model Gabriel Aubry to be the face of the new campaign. Jeff Lubell, the company’s director, feels that the new campaign will help shift the brand’s image from hippy to upscale. “It is a lot more glam, more glitz, but not moving away too far from our roots,” said Lubell. “They both had that hippie, bohemian-chic look that I look for in choosing high-fashion models,” he said. “At the same time, they also gave me the glamorous side of the business.”

The new ads will also be featuring more of the non-denim aspects of the brand, such as vests, shoes and shirts, which were modeled by Gisele Bündchen in last year’s campaign but will highlight their accessibility to the consumer.

The ZX 700 first made an appearance in 1985 as a high mileage runner but quickly made an equally considerableimpact in the style stakes. Arguably one of the less technical silhouettes in the ZX family, this version takes takes the simpler silhouette and drops a striking colouway that takes this into the realm of must have acquisitions. The upper is a predominantly grey suede with the use of a matching grey mesh on the toe box and behind the 3-Stripes for maximum breathability.

The traditional lacing system and ghilly system are also in matching grey while the whole upper is set off with pops of purple on the Trefoil tongue tag, heel tab and the reflective section of the toe box.
