I have only just come across this song ‘BTSTU’ by Jai Paul (Props go to @KieranSills for the heads up). This is the original version to Drake’s recent song ‘Dreams Money Can Buy’. That song by Drake showed people that he can sing in any genre, and I was a huge fan of that song, but after listening to this original I am speechless, this song is a what you call art with such unique sounds and mysterious samples it is a delight to listen to, and almost makes you feel like you are in a dream, I only have one word ‘Masterpiece’.
The original artist is Jai Paul, a 21 year old from North West London with a startlingly fresh vision of 21st century pop music. Recently signed to XL, home of M.I.A. and The xx, he’s been generating serious heat in the Blogosphere for this cult track ‘BTSTU’, the start of the song features an impossibly sweet falsetto from Jai which seems rather less sweet when you make out he’s singing “Don’t f*** with me, don’t f*** with me…”. As lurching, wonky synths and lasers stabs drag the track into strange new territory, it becomes clear that you’re listening to a box fresh talent.
This guy is definitely one to watch for the future, we also hear he has a new song coming out soon, I personally can not wait to hear more, so stay on the look out.
